Sophie Stankiewicz

Articled Student | Sophie Stankiewicz is a legal practitioner in France and is currently an Articled Student in British Columbia. She is fluent in French and English.

She has advised clients on French law issues relating to various aspects of commercial law, including banking and insolvency law. She is experienced in cross-border insolvency matters, as well as negotiating, reviewing, and drafting service agreements, commercial leases, membership agreements, and corporate by-laws, at national and international levels. Before moving to Canada, she worked at the international law firm of White & Case LLP and the Danone Group in Paris, France.

In Canada, she has worked in law-related positions for a non-for-profit company; as a consultant in French law in a litigation file; and for a financing company as a document specialist where she was in charge of loan and equipment leasing documentation. At Hakemi & Ridgedale LLP, her work is focused on assisting senior counsel in commercial litigation matters before courts in British Columbia and before domestic and international arbitration tribunals.
