Tom Hakemi and Kaitlyn Meyer wrote for the Globe and Mail’s Report on Business about whistle-blower programs targeting price-fixing cartels, securities fraud, and bribery of foreign officials. The success of government whistle-blower programs – where some type of immunity or leniency in sentencing is exchanged for evidence that leads to prosecutions in targeting price-fixing cartels – has led to the increased use of these programs to prosecute fraud in securities markets and illegal bribery of foreign officials.  Read more >
