Chris Dafoe advises and represents companies and individuals in a wide variety of commercial and civil litigation matters. He has appeared at all levels of court in British Columbia, in cases involving contract disputes, defamation claims, breach of trust allegations and wills and estate claims. He has also appeared before the Federal Court of Canada and has successfully resolved matters before the British Columbia Securities Commission.
After working for several years as a journalist, Chris began his legal career at a large regional firm in Vancouver, where he worked on tobacco litigation and other complex matters. Prior to joining Hakemi & Ridgedale, he practiced at another top ranked litigation boutique.
As a law student, he helped research and draft a report that recommended changes to the law governing national class actions. Those changes have since been adopted by several provinces, including British Columbia.
